Mid Lancashire Football League
Formation of the League
All evidence produced from research and enquiries has revealed that organised football has been played in this area since 1871, and early articles in the Preston Herald indicate that a Preston & District Football League was in existance in 1891, and allowing for a break in the football during the war years, organised football has been played under the banner of the Preston & District Fopotball League for nearly 120 years. The League was formerly accepted into the Lancashire Football Association on the 29th September 1904. There are limited publications of:- A History of the Preston & District Football League
